What I'm Doing During Social Distancing

Hey there! I hope everyone is feeling well during this difficult time (and if you aren’t, that’s okay too!) and I hope that everyone is taking care of themselves. Being inside might feel boring, or might make you feel a little down, but there are things you can do to help yourself feel a little better. Here are some of the things that I’m doing to make myself feel a little bit more comfortable.

Paying Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing is a really good way to get yourself busy and to distract yourself from all of the stuff that’s happening at the moment. Right now, you might find it hard to even get out of bed. But thinking about the things you need to do in Animal Crossing can help you. There are lots of things you need to do on a daily basis, like getting your daily nook miles, talking to your fellow islanders, watering your flowers, and gathering materials. Every day is something different on your island, and it’ll get you excited to start the day.

Watching Your Favorite Shows

Watching TV or a show that you like will distract you, and make you feel better about everything that’s going on. Getting into a fictional world and escaping from the real one can feel amazing sometimes! (Some TV shows and movies I recommend are Steven Universe, A Silent Voice, and The Office. I’ve been watching them nonstop!)

Listening To Music

Music is great for making people feel good, especially in a time like this. Listen to some music, or even discover new artists. There’s so much out there to listen to, you’re bound to find something you like! (I recommend RAIN by Ben Platt, or The Villain I Appear To Be by Connor Spiotto.)

Sitting Around

This one might sound a little strange, but let me explain. Right now, you don’t have to be productive. You don’t have to do all this stuff to make sure you’re busy. Everyone’s stressed right now, and being busy isn’t going to make anyone feel better. All you need to do is get exercise and eat right. Sitting around and taking a nap is fine. You don’t have to be doing something every second of the day.

That’s all! Make sure you take care of yourself, wash your dang hands, wear a mask, and stay at home for the people who can’t. I hope you have a wonderful day!
